- Description
- The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS), Division of Prevention Traumatic Stress, and Special Programs, Special Programs Development Branch, through the Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a twelve month sole source simplified acquisition to the Federation of Families for Children?s Mental Health. The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to develop a strategy to help families across the nation and especially those with children who have mental and behavioral disorders to learn about evidence-based preventive services and programs, and to begin to appreciate the usefulness of prevention science. The goal of this project is to enhance the capacity of the 150 family run organizations engaged with the Federation to conduct outreach and education for families with young children, school-aged children and adolescents about resilience, the prevention of mental and behavioral disorders and the promotion of mental health. Closing date for this announcement is September 5, 2003. The proposed simplified acquisition action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Contractors may forward capability statements to the referenced address within 15 days after the date of publication of this Notice. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
