- NA The contractor shall prepare a written history of The Judge Advocate General??????s Corps of the U.S. Army from 1775 to the present. The project should cover the time period from the appointment of the first Judge Advocate of the Army in 1775 to the prese nt. The project will be organized chronologically. It will consist of descriptive text, stories, vignettes, pictures, and other material that will provide an attractive and accurate portrayal of the history of The Judge Advocate General??????s Corps. Wh ile the project will not attempt to be comprehensive, it will highlight the important developments in the Corps?????? history, and the significant role played by the Corps in the nation??????s conflicts. It will spotlight the significant contributions of prior The Judge Advocates General of the Army, and will pay particular attention to those judge advocates, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel who have played an important role in the development of The Judge Advocate General??????s Corps and who have made significant contributions to the Corps, the Army, and the nation. The evolution of military justice should be a theme of the volume, as should the expansion in the role of the judge advocate that has occurred during the history of the Corps, especia lly since World War II. The role of judge advocates during noteworthy operations should be highlighted. Former judge advocates who have become prominent in the legal profession should be noted. The project should also discuss other judge advocate roles, such as on military commissions and as advisors in a joint environment. The principal result of this project will be a one-volume work, 250-300 double-spaced, typescript, manuscript pages, exclusive of pictures and other non-textual material. The final product will include, as appropriate, introductory material (preface and f oreword), table of contents, text, citations, bibliography, and annexes or appendices, maps, pictures, and a graphics plan, all of which will reflect the highest professional historical standards. All text material will also be available on disk in an ele ctronic format compatible to JAG IT standards. The contractor shall be prepared to have draft chapters reviewed by OTJAG and others as deemed appropriate by OTJAG. The Government considers this contract to be nonseverable; performance will be incomplete unless and until the final product has been submitted by the contractor and accepted by the Government.
