Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Headquarters intends to issue a solicitation to BAE SYSTEMS Avionics Limited, Rochester, England, for the design, fabrication and delivery of a Digital Flight Control Computer (DFCC) to replace the EA-6B Air Navigational Computer (ANC). BAE will provide two (2) prototype DFCC lab assets with flight release software and will modify an F-14 Engineering Test Station for DFCC compatibility. BAE will manufacture two (2) initial production units with production-qualified software build for flight test followed by twenty (20) additional production units. BAE will then manufacture one hundred and fourteen (114) production DFCCs for fleet install. BAE has previously developed a similar item for the F-14 Program. BAE is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the ASW-59 Digital Flight Control System (DFCS) installed in F-14 aircraft and is uniquely qualified to produce the modified DFCS for installation in all EA-6B aircraft. The contract will include a base requirement and options with the intent to develop the modified DFCC over the next two years and procure 134 production DFCC kits over 18 months from completion of development.
