- Description
- Sale of selected Pine and Hardwood timber: For harvesting of selected Pine Trees in Sale Area #1 (Record Units #1, 14), and Sale Area #2 (Record Unit #24), as specified in the Special Conditions of Sale. The sale consists of approximately 4,423 pine sawtimber trees containing an estimated 1,127,584 board feet Doyle Scale and 1,874 pine pulpwood trees containing an estimated 77 cords. The sale also includes approximately 902 hardwood sawtimber trees containing an estimated 116,987 board feet Doyle Scale and 5,614 hardwood pulpwood trees containing an estimated 327 cords. Log scales based on Form Class 80 for pine and Form Class 78 for hardwoods. The timber to be harvested is located on approximately 119 acres of the East Reservation, Barksdale Air Force Base, Cutting to begin no later than 300 days after award with 365 days to complete removal after contract is awarded. FOR THE PERSONAL SAFETY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND HIS EMPLOYEES, THERE WILL BE NO TIMBER HARVESTING OPERATIONS PREMITTED DURING THE ANNUAL GUN DEER HUNTING SEASON; THE ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE SETS THE DATES. (The 25-day gun deer season begins in October and ends in January. The exact dates will be provided when available.) Anticipated issue date is 23 August 2002; anticipated opening date of the solicitation is 9 September 2002. A 10% bid deposit will be required. This agency will consider bids from all responsible sources. The solicitation will be issued on the worldwide web and can be founded at the following website: www.eps.gov. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. All prospective offerors are responsible to visit the WEB page frequently to obtain the solicitation and any amendments or other information pertaining to this solicitation.
