Description
The National Institute of Neurology and Disorders (NINDS), NIH Mouse Imaging Facility (MIF) plans to procure on a sole source basis Copley 265 Module with DCCT controller from Bruker Bio Spin MRI, Inc., 44 Manning Road, Billerica, MA 01821 for the magnetic resonance imaging gradient amplifier module. MIF is a shared resource for research in development and application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). In addition, MIF provides support for research activities within the In Vivo NMR Research Center. The primary objective for this purchase is the need for a replacement/stand by that is being used on two of the research magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the Mouse Imaging Facility (MIF). This specialized equipment designed to perform MRI scans for rat and mouse body, unique to the government-owned Bruker instruments in the Mouse Imaging Facility (MIF). The specifications for this equipment is as follows: output 200 ampere, 30C volt peak including the DCCT Controller which automatically selects the compensation network appropriate for each gradient coiled used. All Imaging equipment must be compatible with the Bruker systems that are already in place at the NINDS. This is not a request for solicitation for competitive quotation. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished shall be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NCI to determine if the party can fully meet the requirements. Capability statements must be received in the contracting office by 1:00 PM EST on September 15, 2003. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
