Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Yuma Area Office, Yuma Desalting Plant, Yuma, Arizona 85364 intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the following Caterpillar authorized repair facilities: Empire Machinery, 3392 Highway 86, Imperial CA 92251; Empire Machinery 3050 E. Highway 95, Yuma, AZ 85364; Empire Machinery (Power Systems) 840 North 43rd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85009, for repair of government owned Caterpillar equipment for the period of September 12, 2003 through September 30, 2003. Competition is restricted to only one source due to the fact that these Empire authorized dealers are the only source (in their respective geographical area) which can provide the required work on Caterpillar equipment. The geographic areas identified are those that the Bureau of Reclamation has identified as known areas in which are likely to have a requirement during the upcoming period. Repair services are required for the area in Imperial, California; Yuma, Arizona; and Phoenix AZ. This procurement will be awarded using simplified acquisition procedures. The anticipated award date is September 14, 2003. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. The quotation shall show the sources= capability to provide the service and provide genuine Caterpillar parts (as necessary) in the performance of the repair work in all the required geographic areas.
