Description

YWCA of Greater Los Angeles which operates the Los Angeles Job Corps Center (LAJCC) under contract with the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration is requesting bids for construction/renovation to the Transportation Communication training facility located on the fourth floor of 1031 South Hill Street. The renovation will include upgrading classrooms, reception area, two offices, restrooms, and staff and trainee lounges. The responsibility of the prospective contractor shall be to provide a Design/Build proposal which will cover approximately 7,250 square feet. The Design/Build documents, including the engineering and architectural plans, shall be based upon the 8-1/2" x 11" conceptual floor plan submitted by the LAJCC with the Scope of Work. The contractor shall perform a complete code compliant installation of all components, fixtures, finishes, clearances and remodel of area to comply with all Federal, State and Local Regulations and Building Codes, including but not limited to, all Fire and Life Safety Governing Agencies, including Title 24 Parts 1-12 as they apply, Title 19, and all applicable City and County Ordinances. As part of the bid, the Design/Build General Contractor shall be licensed in the State of California and in good standing with the Contractor's State License Board, shall submit its design team's qualifications and a list of at least three Design/Build projects and references. Transportation of tools and materials to the fourth floor work area is available only on one small five-passenger elevator. Large itms must be carried up the stairs. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on September 23, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles Job Corps Center, 1031 South Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015. A bid solicitation package will be available at the conference. Bids are due not later than October 7, 2003 by 4:00 p.m. to Telly Polanco. Certified Small Business are encouraged to bid. The YWCA/Los Angeles Job Corps Center reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive any or all informalities in a bid.
