Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request for Quotation (RFQ) #127456 is assigned and shall be referenced on any quotation. All incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-15. This solicitation is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 421690 and the business size standard is $5,000,000.00. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities website http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of this solicitation document will not be available. This site provides downloading instructions. Should any future information be publicized regarding this acquisition including solicitation amendments, it shall be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to solicit and negotiate with Harris Corporation Intraplex Products, 59 Porter Road Littleton, MA 01460-1410, the sole manufacturer, for the purchase of the following: Two (2) Harris Model ACS-163-T1 Multiplexors and associated circuit cards which include audio coder/decoder devices needed for the system integration, testing, and evaluation. This equipment must be compatible with the existing equipment that is currently owned by the FBI. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This action shall result in a Firm Fixed Price - One Time Buy Contract and shall begin upon the date of acceptance by the selected offeror. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. The Standard Commercial Warranty is one year. FOB Destination: FBI, ERF Bldg., Quantico, VA 22135. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all information received within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government and can be faxed to (703)339-2750. All information shall be clearly marked with RFQ #127456, no later than September 23, 2003 at 4:00 p.m., attention: Janice Williams. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
