**** ****MODIFICATION 01 ? Guidance on the type signs is an attachment to this EPS posting. Photos of the existing signs are also an attachment to this EPS posting. Contractor is to remove existing Air Force Symbol and lettering from the brick entrance signs at the Dorchester Road Gate and the Rivers Avenue Gate. Repair and smooth out the surface where the old symbol and lettering were removed. Provide/install new Air Force Symbols and lettering in accordance with the government provided ?Guidance on Entrance Signs?. NOTE: THE TYPE OF SIGN REQUIRED IN THE GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE IS MAIN ENTRANCE SIGN TYPE A1-LAYOUT. A SITE VISIT WILL BE HELD ON 15 SEP 03, AT 10:00 a.m. at the Contracting Office, 101 E. Hill Blvd, 2nd Floor, Charleston AFB SC. Point of contact is Judy Johnson, (843) 963-5158 or email judy.johnson@charleston.af.mil. The Contracting Officer is Anna M. Urrutia, (843-963-5157) or email anna.urrutia@charleston.af.mil. FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items Evaluation. The government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: (1) Technical capability of the items offered the items offered to meet the government?s requirement, (2) Price and (3) Past Performance. A minimum of 3 references, of recent projects relevant to this requirement, is to be submitted with your proposal. The Government will evaluate offers for award purposes for the total price for the requirement. Technical and Past Performance, when combined are approximately equal. FAX the proposals to (843) 963-5183 to the attention of Judy Johnson.**** This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This combined synopsis/solicitation number is FQ441832200200 is being issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-15. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small businesses. The associated NAICS code is 339050 with a 500 employee size standard. Contractors shall submit a lump sum proposal for all labor and materials included in this project. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Request Quotation to provide and install Air Force Signs. Contractor will furnish all plant, labor, material, parts, and equipment necessary to remove the existing Air Force Symbol from the brick signs at Rivers and Dorchester Gates. Repair/smooth out surface where old symbol was removed, then install the new Air Force Symbol onto repaired surface of brick sign in accordance with the best commercial practice.
