Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The United States Air Force intends to issue a sole-source purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Runway Ice Detection System upgrade computer software package. This system was provided by the Surface Systems, Inc. and is used to monitor and detect icing and weather conditions to facilitate snow removal and flight ground conditions. This is not a request for quotation, nor is it an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of a solicitation hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. All timely responses will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not it is advantageous to the Government to conduct a competitive procurement; no award will be made on the basis of any response to this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No paper copies of the solicitation will be available. The Government will not pay for information being submitted in response to this publication. The mailing address for responses is 509th Contracting Squadron, 727 Second St, Suite 124A, Whiteman AFB, MO 65305. Responses to this notice from responsible sources shall be submitted no later than 20 Sep 2003, 4:00 Central Standard Time (CST).
