Description

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award a contract modification for the effort required to implement design changes, qualify and verify Composite Capsule Launching System (CCLS) hardware modified to meet SSGN requirements. The CCLS hardware affected by SSGN requirements and requiring modification is as follows: Umbilical Cable, Capsule Closure Assembly (including Sabot), Aft Cover, Launch Control Cable Assembly, Aft Fairing, and Aft Closure. NAVAIR intends to award this effort to Raytheon Systems Company (RSC), P.O. Box 11337, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337. Raytheon is the only company capable of performing this effort. Since 1994, RSC has been the sole developer, designer, and manufacturer for the Tomahawk All-Up-Round (AUR). RSC solely possesses the current configuration and manufacturing data for the Tactical Tomahawk missile. RSC currently manages the key requirements, interface, integration, and verification documents for the Tomahawk Weapons System. Because a detailed knowledge and expertise of the Tactical Tomahawk missile is required to perform this effort, RSC is the only source capable of accomplishing these requirements in the required timeframe and without duplication of costs.
