Description

The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA intends to purchase approximately 300 Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS) Power Control Modules (PCM), ASOS Part Number 62828-40155-120 (175 each) and 62828-40155-130 (125 each). The Government will optionally purchase up to 425 additional PCMs in Fiscal Year 2004. Two prototype items will be delivered to the National Weather Service Engineering and Acquisition Branch in Silver Spring, Maryland for approval. Upon Government acceptance, the remainder of the units will be delivered to the National Weather Service (NWS), National Logistics Support Center, (NLSC) in Kansas City, MO. The PCMs will be built to National Weather Service drawings, which are available from the Point of Contact listed below. Alternative or like items are not acceptable. Any source able to provide the equipment referenced herein is encouraged to respond to this announcement within five (5) days of its publication. Interested firms should submit in writing, its name, address, point of contact, telephone number, business size and a brief statement regarding its capability to provide the specified equipment. Also include the name, telephone number, and point of contact for businesses or other government agencies to which it has previously provided the item. The information should be submitted to the address stated herein or may be faxed to (301) 713-1024, Attention Annette Stevens. Failure to provide the required information will deem the request non-responsive. This is not a request for proposals. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. The NAICS is 335999. This requirement is not set-aside for small businesses.
