Description: Description: Pine and hardwood timber: For harvesting of selected Pine trees in Sales Area #1 (C-130 Campus Area), Sales Area #2 (Clear zone Areas), and Sales Area #3 (Thinning/Power lines) as specified in the Special Conditions of Sale. The sale consists of approximately 25,603 pine and hardwood trees containing an estimated 325,238 pine saw logs board feet, 786 pine pulp cords, 69,708 hardwood saw logs board feet and 439-hardwood pulp cord. The timber to be harvested is located on approximately 180 acres on Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. Cutting to begin no later than 30 days after award. For the personal safety of the contractor and his employees there will be not timber harvesting operations permitted during the annual hunting season. Dates will be given to contractor. Anticipated issued date is 18 September 2003; anticipated opening date is 9 October 2002. A 10% bid deposit will be required. This agency will consider bids for all responsible sources. The solicitation will be issued on the worldwide web and can be found at the following website: www.eps.gov. Paper copies of this solicitation will be available. All prospective offerors are responsible to visit the WEB page frequently to obtain the solicitation and any amendments or other information pertaining to this solicitation.
