- The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract with Broco, Inc., Ancho Cucamonga, CA, under Request for Quote (RFQ) 0026721. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) web site www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Broco, Inc., is to provide the following items: 1) 11 each Tactical Kits, Torch PC/TACMOD1 W/PC/BISLW, 110/230 SWIT; and 2) 11 each Prime Cut Rods, 36? 25#. FOB-Origin to the CONUS. Based on market research via catalogues, the World Wide Web sites, and trade shows, it has been determined that the FBI?s requirement for the torches can only be provided by Broco, Inc., because Broco, Inc., is the only vendor who provides the protective Kevlar covering on oxygen bottles. This Kevlar covering will reduce the chance of explosion if there is a bottle penetration. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 2:00 PM, EDT, Wednesday, September 24, 2003, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-1607. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System number is 325998, the size standard is 500 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. Telephone requests will not be accepted. See Note 1 and 22.
