Description
SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston intends to award a sole source contract to Harris Corporation for the procurement of two Rugged Deployable SATCOM Terminals (RDSAT). The RDSAT is a Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) highly ruggedized 2.5 meter triband (C, X and Ku-Band) satellite terminal that is upgradeable to include Ka-Band operations. The system consists of a 2.5 meter antenna and two transit cases. Key capabilities include: (1) Upgrade from spoke to 4 down link hub with addition of VME cards to existing chassis (no additional cases required); (2) Upgradeable to provide redundancy with a 250 msec switchover if an HPA or converter fails; (3) when anchored the system is capable of Ka-band operations in 40 mph winds with gusts up to 60 mph; and (4) the antenna control system must be capable of interfacing with and controlling QRSA and LHGXA antennas. The electronics transit cases must be sealed during normal operation and must not use outside air for cooling. Heat exchangers must be used to transfer internal heat to the outside. The transit cases must also be capable of interfacing to standard Government Environmental Control Units (ECUs). The RDSAT must be capable of operating from ?20? C to +50? C. The system must also have INTELSAT and DISA certification. This notice is for informational purposes only. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price type contract. The NAICS for this procurement action is 334220 and the applicable size standard is 750 employees. The FSC is 5820. This is NOT a request for proposals.
