It is anticipated that approximately $3 million dollars will be awarded for funding of novel and innovative basic research proposals associated with metabolic monitoring. The maximum requested amount for each pr oposal should not exceed $300 thousand dollars. In an effort to focus limited resources on filling important gaps in the area of metabolic monitoring, this year??????s funding will primarily focus on, but is not limited to, the following areas: novel approaches for monitoring lactate, glucose and other metabolites; development and testing of alternate monitoring techniques and approaches (including alternate site testing) of relevance to the individual with diabetes and the warfighter; novel metabolic sampling technologies; and predictive criteria that r elate to metabolism, glucose, and the availability and utilization of other energy substrates. For proposal submission please go to the following website: http://www.usamraa.army.mil/pages/index.cfm . The main body of the proposal shall not exceed 10 pages.
