The U.S. Army Office of the Project Manager (PM) Close Combat Systems (CCS) is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for the fabrication, inspection, testing and delivery of M84 Non-lethal Stun Grenades and a Re-loadable XM102 Training Grenade. The M84 Stun Hand Grenade (SHG) is a non-lethal (stun) diversionary hand grenade, which produces an intense flash (approximately 1 to 2.5 million candlepower peak) and bang (approximately 170 to 180 decibels at 1.5 meters (5.0 ft.)). The grenade will be used by tactical and non-tactical forces while performing missions of hostage rescue and capture of criminals, terrorists, and other adversaries. The current grenade uses a M201A1 fuze. The fuze shall have a 1.5-second delay/separation charge. The M84 Stun Hand grenade will be packaged and shipped with three grenades in an M19A1 metal container. The overpack consists of four M19A1 metal containers encased in a wood wirebound box. Upon detonation, the body and fuze of the grenade shall remain intact and produce no fragmentation. The XM102 Reloadable Stun Grenades shall have the same feel, and function as the M84 tactical unit, but with the ability to have the fuse replaced multiple times, to facilitate training. Both the M84 and XM102 are to be built in accordance with a government Performance Specification.
