- Description
- The National Park Service, Midwest Regional Office, seeks bids from qualified firms to furnish and install Fire Suppression Systems in three (3) historic heavy timber structures, at Grand Portage National Monument in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Scope consists of all labor, equipment, materials and incidentals necessary to provide for the complete installation of fire suppression systems, as depicted on the construction drawings and in strict accordance with the specifications. Work entails, but not limited to, fire alarm systems, fire-suppression piping (inside the building), and water distribution (for piping outside the building) for the Great Hall, Kitchen, and the Canoe Warehouse. Included also are basic mechanical and electrical requirements for the demolition and removal of the existing Halon systems, equipment, and components. This project will be awarded under a single, firm-fixed price contract. NOTE: Earthwork specified in Section 02300 and shown on drawings will be performed by Government personnel. Demolition, patching, and repair of wood flooring, ceiling, and trim willl also be performed by Government personnel. The successful bidder shall coordinate with Government personnel in completing the work under this contract. NOTE: The structures and archaeological resources involved are listed in the National Register of Historic Places and every precaution must be taken to prevent damage to existing historical structural components of the buildings and surrounding areas. The period of performance is forty-five (45) calendar days from issuance of notice to proceed. The estimated cost range of project is between $100,000 and $250,000. This proposed acquisition is UNRESTRICTED (open to both small and large business) pursuant to Public law 100-656, Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238990, and the Small Business Size Standard is $12 million (average gross revenue for the last three (3) years). The official Invitation For Bid (IFB) I6150040011 package will be released to the public on or about December 1, 2003, with an approximately 45-day response time. Paper copies of the solicitation documents will NOT be issued. Each bid submittal package shall contain, as a minimum, the SF-1442 Solicitation, Offer, and Award, (page 1 and 2 with proper signature), bid schedule (with Lump-sum pricing for base and additive/deletions line items, if any), completed representations and certifications (Section K), and SF-24 Bid Bond (or other acceptable bid guarantee in the requisite amount). Note: Electronic bids will not be accepted. Faxed modifications are acceptable prior to time of scheduled bid opening.
