Description

NA The US Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) intends to solicit on a sole source basis, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, for a three-year, Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract for up to 150,000 Zinc Air Batteries consisting of a mixture of BA-8180/U, NSN 6135-01-500-0572, and BA-81XX batteries. Additionally, up to 41,000 associated interface adapters will be required. First Article Testing is required but may be waived if determined to be in the best interest of the Government. The proposed source is Electric Fuel Inc. (EFI), 354 Industry Drive, Auburn, Alabama 36832. EFI is the only source that has designed and produced Zinc Air batteries and interface adap ters that meet the Government's requirements. It is also the only source with an operational production line for the batteries and adapters that meet Government requirements. All responsible sources may submit a bid/proposal which shall be considered by the agency. Submittal of proposals to the Government shall be through the Interactive Business Opportunitis Page (IBOP), Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI), accessible at: https://abop.monmouth.army.mil. All responsible sources must register to use the IBOP in order to access, operate, send/receive information pertaining to this action. It is also recommended that potential sources monitor the web site on a regular basis and sign up for the solicitation specific mailing list. See Note 22.
