Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial repair services onboard a united states government naval aircraft carrier. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N627933321050 applies and is issued as a request for quote. This solicitation is for the following service: Chemically cleaning of three (3) air conditioning plant condensers onboard the United States Navy aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73. Unit number and location of the air conditioning plant condensers to be cleaned are as follows: AC Plant No. 5 (MMR 1),AC Plant 6 (RAR No. 2),and AC Plant No. 7 ( MMR No. 2).Chemical cleaning shall be accomplished using onw (1) of the following NAVSEA approved chemicals: "Rydlyme", "SAFE-D-SCALE", or PIPE-KLEAN". Contractor shall dispose of al l chemicals used in accordance with the Material Safety Data Sheet, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Notes: 1.) Security clearance will be required for contractor to have access to shipboard propulsion plant spaces to perform work.Also, NAVSEA 08 approval will be required prior to contract being awarded. 2.) Bid proposals must be "Firm-Fixed Price". 3.) Work is to be performed onboard the USS George Washington (CVN-73) located at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Va. 4.) Bid proposals must be received no later than by 12:00 noon EST on Thursday 20 November, 2003. 7.) Supervisor of Shipbuilding Newport News intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offer whose quote, conforms to the solicitation requirements, has the lowest price. 8. This solicitation incorporates the applicable FAR clauses for a Commercial Acquisition in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures. 9. Quotes will be accepted either via Email or fax.
