Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command has a requirement for additional quantities of the Third Echelon Test System (TETS). A Request For Proposal will be released in early 2004 to procure a minimum of 5 systems and a maximum of 100 systems over a five-year period. The TETS shall have the capability to test, diagnose, and screen electronic, electro-mechanical, electro optical and Radio Frequency (RF) Line Replaceable Units (LRU's) to the Secondary Reparable (SECREP)/ Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) assembly level for a wide variety of weapon systems/equipments. TETS shall also be capable of fault detection go/no go testing of individual CCA's. The TETS shall be constructed from Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS), modified COTS, or NDI equipment using modular instrument technology. Purpose. A portable test set to be used as far forward as practical. Configuration ? This configuration of the TETS will be a Radio Frequency (RF) variant up to 18 GHz, an Electro-Optical Variant (EOV) and an EOV/RF TETS. There will be the addition of the CAN, MIC FDDI, SP-TCIM, Giga-bit Ethernet Busses as well as additional control over the EIA-232, EIA-422, RS-485, and MIL-STD-1553B Bus Protocols. The new system shall be configured such that the computer controlling the system can be changed with little or no special tools. These additional systems shall have the ability to run legacy Application Program Set. An option to purchase kits that will allow existing TETS to be upgraded to the new configuration may be required. MARCORSYSCOM will begin posting draft procurement documents and other information for industry comment in approximately 30 days at http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/oppor.htm. No documents are available at this time.
