- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting market research to identify sources which are capable of meeting a requirement for Combat Assault Slings (CAS) which are compatible with the M16A2 Rifle, M-4 Carbine, M16A4 Rifle, and the Joint Service Combat Shotgun. The CAS shall possess the following characteristics: (1) adapt to the M16A2 Rifle, M-4 Carbine, M16A4 Rifle, and the Joint Service Combat Shotgun; (2) be long enough to suspend the weapon across the body (back or front) when carried by a combat equipped Marine; (3) versatile enough to be shortened as needed for normal weapons carry when not in a tactical posture; (4) must not cause obstruction when entering into a Marine Corps Marksmanship firing position; (5) the sling must be capable to be used ambidextrously. The Berry Amendment and Buy American Act will apply under the forthcoming procurement, therefore, please indicate where the sling is made. Interested sources should submit descriptive, technical information to include product literature, if applicable, at no cost to the Government to Commanding General, MARCORSYSCOM, Attn: CTQLF/Lynn Y.
