- Description
- NA The RT-1625/ARN-153(V)is a 962-1, 213 Megahertz, 500 Watt receiver-transmitter. It measures the slant-rang distance and relative bearing to a selected ground station or an airborne beacon-TACANS, and computes velocity and time-to-go to that station. It i s a critical navigational system in the UH-60Q and HH-601 medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) helicopters. The proposed source is Rockwell Collins, Inc. (RCI), Cedar Rapids, IA, the designer and developer of the TACANS. RCI's RT-1625/ARN-153(V) is the only TACA N available that interfaces with the MIL-SSTD 1553B Data Bus configuration used on the MEDEVAC helicopters. See note 22.
