- Description
- PART: U.S. GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENTS SUBPART: SERVICES CLASSCOD: A--Research and Development--Potential Sources Sought OFFADD: U.S. Army CECOM, CECOM Acquisition Center, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5008 SUBJECT: Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Data Links DUE 30 January 2004 POC : Andrew Dellomo, Contracting Officer, 732-532-3569, AMSEL-AC-CC-RT-G DESC: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD), U.S. Army Communications Command (CECOM), Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, is seeking sources to submit technical descriptions and proposals for potential subsystems for exis ting System Development and Demonstration (SDD) Electronic Support (ES) systems that will improve data communications beyond line-of-sight (BLOS). Current Army ES systems consist of radio intercept and direction-finding equipment mounted onto tactical vehi cles with a hardtop roof and extending antenna mast. Current data links for transmission of digital messages are supported by VRC-99 and VRC-92 SINCGARS radios. We desire improvement in both data throughput and communications range. Proposed solutions wi ll be considered for Technical Insertion (TI) and Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) on existing production Army systems. Data throughput is desired to be several hundred kilobits per second, and communications range between 15 km and several hundred km. Proposed solutions may examine a combination of subsystems or a single subsystem configurable to operate in different frequ ency bands, modes, and ranges. Address any on-the-move operational capability and identify possibilities for minimizing antenna height and visual signature. All interested parties considering submission of technical information are encouraged to contact Government Technical Points of Contact - Mr. Mark Conrad at (732) 427-1959. Interested parties should submit a white paper no greater than ten pages in length and should include at minimum the following information: 1) Technical description of the system to include configuration and capabilities. 2) Information regarding users and performance of systems currently in use or previously fielded. * * Prophet Ground Operational Requirements Document (ORD) will be made available upon request. This documentation may be mailed to US Army RDEC, ATTN: AMSEL-RD-IW-SI (Mark Conrad), Building 600, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5211. Documentation may also be sent to electronic address mark.conrad@mail1.monmouth.army.mil, or faxed to (732) 427-1786, ATTN: M ark Conrad. To be considered as part of the market research database, documentation should be received no later 30 January 2004. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this synopsis. Responding firms should indicate whether or not they are a small business.
