Description
USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service is announcing a project under the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Program for Kendall County. Site No. 1: work consists of excavation and reshaping of approximately 175-foot section of the existing outlet side channel. Contractor to construct a concrete pad to use as a level surface for roller compacted concrete and construct a roller compacted concrete barrier to armor the east side of the outlet side channel. The Contractor will place compacted earthfill in a scour hole on the downstream side of the concrete barrier at the crest of the auxiliary spillway. The Contractor will remove accumulated sediment from the exit section and use the sediment to fill low areas in the auxiliary spillway up to the design grade. The major items of work (estimated quantities) are: unclassified excavation, 10,750 cu yds.; 16,550 cu. yds. of compacted earthfill, 605 cu yds. of roller compacted concrete; 18 cu yds. of concrete; 83 tons of cement plus pozzolan and 55 cu yds. of drainfill. Site No 3: work consist of placing compacted earthfill in rills and gullies and excavating material in the exit section to restore the auxiliary spillway to design grade. The major items of work (estimated quantities) are: 2,400 cu yds. of compacted earthfill and 1,200 cu yds. of excavation. Only one award will be made for both sites. The NAICS code is 234990. The estimated price range is $250,000 to $500,000. The performance time is 109 calendar days. Effective October 1, 2003, all contractors are required to be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to being awarded a contract by NRCS. The CCR database is the primary Government repository for contractor information required to conduct business with the Federal Government. If your firm is already registered in CCR, please provide your DUNS number in Block 14, under Code in the solicitation. The DUNS number will be used to verify your registration in CCR. If you firm is not currently registered, please register in CCR and then enter your DUNS number in Block 18, under Code in the solicitation. Please note, as of October 1, 2003, NRCS cannot award a contract to a firm not registered in CCR. There are basically 2 steps to register: 1. Obtain a DUNS number by calling Dun and Bradstreet at 1-866-705-7511. 2. Register in CCR. The preferred method for registration is via the World Wide Web at http://www.ccr.gov.
