Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution, Gilmer, West Virginia, intends to make a single award for the provision of an Optometrist. The contract shall consist of a 12 month base period and four 12 month option period for renewal. The estimated quantities for the base period and each option are as follows: A session is defined as one hour. Services are to be provided on a schedule mutually decided between the parties, and will equal 30 sessions per week. Duties include: maintaining accountability of sharps, maintain security of area, perform routine exams of eyes, read MD orders for lab requests, assist in the proper maintenance of optometry supplies, write prescriptions. This is a non-personal services contract and not a personnel appointment. The solicitation 100% set aside for small business. The solicitation will made available on or about January 27, 2004, and will be distributed solely through the General Administration?s Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up to date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is February 19, 2004. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered.
