Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, TX intends to make a single award for the provision of Expended Duty Dental Assistant services (North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code (621399) at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Manchester, Kentucky. The contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to, assisting Dental Officers with restorations, oral surgery, periodontics, prosthetics, and examinations by preparing the dental treatment room, dental instruments, essential materials, drugs/medications, passing instruments, retracting tissue, irrigating oral cavity, operating aspirator, and observing patient for responses. Qualifications include, the prospective contractor must possess at a minimum completed a Dental Assistant training program, including dental radiology. Contractor shall possess knowledge of dental x-ray equipment and radiation precautions. The contractor must have a minimum of three (3) years experience as a dental assistant, one (1) year experience as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant, and a minimum of two (2) years experience in a correctional setting. The contractor must maintain and be certified in CPR and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) throughout the life of the contract. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The contract periods will consist of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for renewal. The estimated quantities for the base and each option year are 1560 one (1) hour session per year. The solicitation will be available on/about February 13, 2004 and will be distributed solely through this website. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides downloading instructions to obtain all documents relating to this solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the solicitation and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. The date for receipt of quotations is on/about March 13, 2004. This solicitation is a total small business set-aside. All responsible small business concerns are encouraged to submit a quotation which may be considered. See Note 1.
