Description
An RFP will be issued on or about 23 Jan 04, the RFP is for an enterprise-wide Telecommunications Management System (TMS) Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) product. This TMS architecture is to satisfy the requirements of the MAJCOMs and to standardize TMS Air Force Wide. Government telephone systems are changing constantly. The purpose of implementing TMS is to provide overall telecom management, not just a record-keeping device. The TMS is envisioned to meet the future demands of the evolving Government telephone system by providing a centralized, scalable, and automated computer based management system that is modular in design while integrating all data into an inter-relational structure. The TMS, when fully deployed, will provide the capability to proactively and reactively manage the Air Force voice networks at the Network Control Center (NCC) level and the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) level. Each Base NCC has the capability to manage their own network as far as administration (moves, additions, changes, analysis) and maintenance (trouble reporting, help desk, testing) are concerned. The MAJCOM NOSC will have the capability to centrally manage the voice network through fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security management. The NOSC will then report up to a central AF analysis location by presenting performance and configuration data for any base switch in the Enterprise.
