Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for the repair of Electric Speed Indicator Co. Wind Measuring Equipment (WME) components as follows; 10 ea., WDS ASSY, P/N F420C, 84 ea., P/N F420C-5A and 105 ea., P/N F420C-6A. The WME system displays current real time wind speed and direction information for Air Traffic Control (ATC). The wind speed/direction transmitters detect the wind speed and direction and displays that information via the indicators, which are analog dials representing the speed and direction from the transmitters. This wind information utilized by ATC to determine which runway to use and is transmitted to aircraft pilots for critical flight information. FAA Order 7210.3 (S), Facility Operation and Administration, Part 3, Chapter 10, Section 3, paragraph 10-3-2 required wind instruments and Approach Control and Air Traffic Control Tower facilities. The FAA does not have specifications or drawings. The contractor must have access to the original equipment manufacturer???s (OEM) specifications and drawings. Potential sources must provide documentation to the FAA showing proof for rights to use the data from the OEM. Statements that data will be obtained or that specifications or drawings will be developed are not acceptable. Only those responses providing the required documentation in response to this market survey will be considered prior to further action by the FAA. Interested parties who can comply with and meet all of the requirements called out in this market survey should respond with their documentation in writing to: Federal Aviation Administration Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center P.O. Box 25082 Attn: AMQ-210/Mike Rogers Oklahoma City, OK 73125 Email: Mike.J.Rogers@FAA.Gov Mark responses to this survey with Market Survey File #0454236, to arrive by Jan. 26, 2004. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing responses to this market survey. Any proprietary information should be so marked. Individual company responses will not be disclosed to other vendors. This announcement is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA to acquire these services. Responders to this announcement may be asked to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittal.
