Description
Sole Source. The United States Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG) Yuma, Arizona, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Freewave Technologies Inc, 1880 South Flatiron Court, Boulder CO, 80301. This contract will consist of Contract Line Ite m (CLIN) 0001, quantity of fifteen (15) each Magnetic Mount Antenna, MHz 5 db elevated feed gain 33 inch omnidirectional antenna with 20 foot cable with N male connector and magnetic mount, part number EAN0925NX-890-940, manufacturer: Freewave Technologie s, Inc, 1880 South Flatiron Court, Boulder, CO 80310; CLIN 0002, quantity of nine (9) each, Waterproof 900 MHz Modems, 115 Kbaud Spread Specturm wireless data transceiver in waterproof enclosure, 6-30 volts with RS232/RS485 switchable interface, part number FGR-115WC-902-928, manufacturer Freewave; CLIN 0 003, quantity of six (6) each, 115 Kbaud Spread Spectrum Ethernet wireless data transceiver in ruggedized enclosure, 6-30 volts, part number FGR-115RE-902-928, manufacturer Freewave. This equipment will be used with existing Freewave systems already in pl ace at USAYPG and must be completely compatible in form, fit and function with our in place Freewave systems. The Freewave FGR-115WC model modem is the same modem currently in use in support of automotive testing. It will provide the additional channel ca pacity and vehicle tracking capability required for upcoming tests. Due to the fact that unique communication protocols are necessary to prevent inadvertent interference, compatibility problems would be incurred with another manufacturers equipment due to the inability of that modem to be able to communicate with existing Freewave modems. Interested parties may submit technical literature showing their capability to meet the Governments requirement to Laura.StJohn@yuma.army.mil no later than 4:30 P.M. MS T,18 February 2004. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Informat ion received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. See Note 22, with the exception that the time period for receipt of proposals for consideration is 14 days instead of 45 days.
