- Description
- Contact the Contracting Officer (James Teruya) for a copy of the solicitation. U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa, Japan plans to award a contract for courier services for a period of one (1) year with the option to award four (4) additional years. Services under this solicitation will generally be from 1130 through 1530, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). The contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision, and other items and services necessary to furnish scheduled and unscheduled courier services. Services are for the U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa as defined in this Statement of Work (SOW). The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract. The contractor shall provide courier services between the U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa and destinations as required. The contractor will provide transportation of medical records, laboratory samples, and supplies and materials as needed. Medical records will be accessible by medical personnel only. The Contractor will utilize logbooks for documentation of official documents and medical records that leave the U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa and records being returned to Branch Medical Clinics. The Contractor must comply with all Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and healthcare industry security standards as provided to the contractor by the U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa. Information received from the U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa is the property of the U.S. Government. The Contractor must maintain strict security measures. All information (written, oral or electronic) is confidential and falls under the requirements for the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Said information may only be released to authorized U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa personnel. The Contractor shall not transfer, copy, distribute or otherwise disclose said information without direct authorization of U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa personnel. The Contractor shall take every necessary precaution to safeguard all U.S. Naval Hospital, Okinawa information. This provision shall survive termination of this contract. Administrative Duties. Contractor shall perform administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee when not performing courier services. Administrative duties include, but is not limited to, filing, sorting, typing, and delivering material within the facility. Contract Period. The contract period will be one (1) year from date of award with four (4) one year options. If the decision is made to exercise the option year, the Contracting Officer will give sixty (60) days advance written notice to the contractor.
