Description
This project will consist of retaining wall and road repair on 1.404 kilometers of roadway for Colorado PRA MEVE 10(7), Main Entrance Road, in Mesa Verde National Park, Montezuma County, State of Colorado. Estimated price range is between $4,000,000 and $8,000,000. This project contains one schedule. Principal work items: Lump sum contractor testing; 1630 m sediment control logs; 5500 m3 watering for dust control; 6.4 ha clearing and grubbing; 109,000 m3 roadway excavation; 3600 m3 subexcavation; 165 ea ground anchor, type A; 18 each performance tests; 6000 metric tons roadway aggregate, method 2; 3700 metric tons minor hot asphalt concrete; 470 m2 plain colored Portland cement concrete pavement; 1650 m fabricated steel pile, in place; 232 m3 treated structural timber and lumber; 1650 m drilled hole for pile; 200 m3 concrete; 270 m pipe culvert, various size; 1550 m asphalt concrete curb; 900 m3 lean concrete backfill; 1550 m removing and resetting guardrail; 3900 m3 placing conserved topsoil; 3000 hours traffic control; 1 each temporary traffic signal system along with associated surveying and staking. Tentative advertisement date is February 20, 2004. Amendments to this solicitation will be issued in paper format to all plan holders and will be posted on our website at http://www.cflhd.gov/procurement. The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000 with interest at prime rate, as published daily in the Wall Street Journal, plus 1.75 percent.
