Description
The Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate (AFRL/MN), Eglin AFB, FL, intends to solicit a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Polaris Sensor Technologies, Inc., 5710 Jones Valley Drive, Huntsville, AL 35802-1830, for: 1) assessing the Specatrotron software by operating the spectropolarimeter system with the current computer. Problems with the current software shall be noted, and suggested improvements shall be listed; 2) the Spectrotron shall be rewritten so that it operates with the new version of the spectrometer software, Win IR Pro 3.4, on the new computer under Windows 2000. This probably will require modifications to the Visual Basic executive and use of a new version of the scripting language software. All three versions of the Spectrotron program shall be set up on the new computer; 3) problems associated with the operation of Spectrotron 2.1 and 3.0 shall be addressed. Any additional issues identified by the sponsor or contractor shall be resolved, as time permits; 4) software upgrades and changes shall be documented. In order to simplify configuration management and to minimize the documentation process, the documentation may be accomplished with comments within the computer programs. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a quotation is being requested and a written request for quotation will not be issued. The reference number for this acquisition is F08630-04-M-0160. This solicitation has incorporated provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-09. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 541511. Please identify whether you are a small or large business based upon this NAICS; small business size standard: of $21 million dollars. This requirement must be provided to the Air Force Research Laboratory Munitions Directorate no later than 26 weeks after receipt of order on an FOB Destination basis.
