- Description
- This procurement is for "small business set-aside" NASA/MSFC has a requirement for a 126 LNFT precast concrete barricade. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the item from Carr Concrete on a sole source basis. Due to the exsisting barricades being used at Marshall Space Flight Center, it is essential that this barricade be compatible due to the dovetail which will produce a seamless wall. Product description is as follows: 126'-0" lineal feet five (5) 10'-0" straight sections X 10'-0" high two (2) 10'-0" left corner sections X 10'-0" high two (2) 10'-0" right corner sections X 10'-0" high nine (9) 4'-0" straight sections X 10'-0" high Specifications for inverted T-wall 1. 5000 PSI concrete 2. base is 44" wide x 12" thick 3. walls to be 8" thick 4. total height 10'-0" 5.reinforcement consists of #5 rebar, grade 60 on 6" centers, both directions 6. lifting to be Dayton Superior P-52 #60647 or equal. Two (2) per section, 8-ton minimum with 4 to 1 safety factor 7. Joints to be tongue and groove with 1-1/2" to 2" penetration depth The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to Janet Appleton at janet.appleton@msfc.nasa.gov no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 2/20/2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
