Description
The Department of Energy?s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), operated by Princeton University, is seeking interested sources to provide a total of sixty (60) cryogenically (liquid nitrogen) cooled copper coils. These include twelve (12) ring or poloidal field (PF) coils, varying in diameter from 21 inches to 107 inches, as well as eighteen (18) D-shaped toroidal field (TF) coils 41 inches wide by 110 inches high. Also included are a total of thirty (30) smaller Trim coils of a bent, wedged geometry. These trim coils range in size from 38 inches by 42 inches, to 22 inches by 111 inches. Conductor material may be CDA104, CDA105, or CDA107 oxygen free silver bearing copper. Please visit the ?NCSX Manufacturing Web Page? at http://ncsx.pppl.gov/NCSX_MFG/ then click on the ?Adv. Mfg. This information is preliminary, provided for information purposes only, and is not suitable or approved for fabrication. This announcement is not a request for proposals (RFP). The RFP for the TF Coils is expected to be released in January 2005. The RFP(s) for the PF Coils and Trim Coils will be released on or about April 2006.
