Description
Q--The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service is soliciting proposals from contractors interested in providing reference laboratory and pathology services for the IHS Indian Hospital located in Winnebago, Nebraska. The Contractor shall be licensed under CLIA and participate in testing programs approved by accrediting agencies, i.e., CMS and CAP. The Contractor shall perform non-emergency laboratory testing procedures as requested by the Winnebago Service Unit. The Contractor will insure a courier service at no cost to the IHS for transportation of specimens provided by the Winnebago Service Unit from Monday to Friday each week. The Contractor will provide training to the service unit on proper packaging and handling of specimens. Test results are to be provided to the Winnebago lab at a time established by mutual agreement between the service unit and the Contractor before contract award. The Contractor will perform Cytology services for the screening and detection of malignant cells and abnormal conditions. Within 6 months after contract award, the Contractor shall be able to provide a bidirectional and unidirectional interface using standard HL7 language to the facility's Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS). The Contractor shall install, at no expense to the IHS, a personal computer and electronic receiver/printer in the service unit laboratory for contract related activities only. Services will be performed over a period of one (1) year from the date of award with four (4) one-year options to extend for a total of five years. Requests for copies of RFP 04-05 will be available 15 days from the date of this publication. The offer due date is tentatively scheduled for March 26, 2004.
