- Description
- NASA/JSC has a requirement for the replacement part (armature) for the Ling Electonics Electro-dynamic shaker Model 4022E. This armature is a spare part that will directly replace the armature currently inside the 4022E shaker in the VATF. NASA/JSC intends to purchase the item from SatCon Power Systems in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1(a)(2). SatCon Power Systems is the only vendor who can build the armature that will be 100% compatible to the Shaker Model 4022E. This new armature is the unique component of Shaker 4022E product of Ling Electronics of SatCon Power Systems. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on February 20, 2004. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
