Description

The U.S. Coast Guard is attempting to locate certified Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) sources that are capable of performing Buoy Maintenance services within the 9th Coast Guard District encompassing the Great Lakes.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspAn indefinite delivery contract type is being contemplated for this requirement under NAICS 332313.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe scope of the acquisition includes overhaul, upgrades, and outfitting buoys, which includes but may not be limited to removing equipment, removing contaminants from inside the buoys, surface preparation, coating application, inspections, minor repairs, upgrading non-standard buoys to standard buoys, and outfitting buoys with wiring and associated components, vent lines, whistles, bells or gongs, and gaskets.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspThe scope of the acquisition also includes transporting the buoys from designated locations to the Contractor?s facility and returning the buoys to the original pick-up location.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspDesignated locations may include Milwaukee, WI; Sturgeon Bay, WI; Essexville, MI; Port Huron, MI; Sault Ste Marie, MI; Charlevoix, MI; Buffalo, NY; Cheboygan, MI; Detroit, MI; and Duluth, MN.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspIf your firm is HUBZone certified and is interested in this acquisition, please respond to Ms. Christine Jeffries at cjeffries@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax at 757-628-4676.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspWith your response provide an outline of previous or current projects that are similar in scope and type of work to be performed under this acquisition and a minimum of two past performance references with points of contact for each reference provided.&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspYour response is required before 4:00 PM eastern standard time February 27, 2004.
