Description
Description: This is a pre-solicitation REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) synopsis. The Program Manager, Robotic & Unmanned Sensors (PM-RUS) is currently conducting market research only. The PM-RUS is interested in the availability of non-developmental miniature synthetic aperture radars to provide all weather sensing capability that will fit into the existing payload bay of a Shadow 200 UAV. The system must demonstrate true SAR capabilities. To be considered as non-developmental item, the miniature s ynthetic aperture radar must be capable of being demonstrated on board an operating UAV. The requirements for a miniature synthetic aperture radar include, but not limited to the following: a) the radar must weigh less than 16 lbs to meet the payload restrictions of the Shadow 200 UAV. b) Must demonstrate half meter (or better) resolution to at least 3.5 km slant range. c) Must have an onboard power consumption of less than 150 Watts. d) Must have demonstrated Data Link functionality from an airborne platform. e) Must be able to provide a swath width of 1 km. f) Must have near real time S AR images processing and display (need not be on board). If the test is successful, it is the intent of PM-RUS to procure a number of systems for use on Shadow 200 UAVs. The responses to this RFI should be no more than 5 to 10 single sided pages. Responses should be sent to: U.S. Army, PM Robotic & Unmanned Sensors, ATTN: SFAE-IEW&S-RUS (Mr. Eugene Lehman), Bldg 2525, Bay 2, Charles Wood Area, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703 and to: US Army RDECOM CERDEC, I2WD, ATTN: AMSRD-CER-IW-BA (Mr. Fred Saint-Preux ), Bldg 600, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703. Technical Point of Contact for questions related to this Market Survey may be directed to Mr. Fred Saint-Preux, (732) 532-5547, e-mail, fred.saintpreux@us.army.mil. The Managerial Point of Contact is Mr. Eugene Lehman , (732) 427-8007, e-mail, eugene.lehman@iews.monmouth.army.mil.
