- Description
- The US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) has a requirement, W81K04-04-R-0008, for hospital housekeeping services at Darnall Army Community Hospital (DACH), Fort Hood, Texas. The contractor will be required to provide all management, supervision, labor, training, transportation, equipment and materials necessary to provide these services in accordance with JACHO, OSHA, and MEDCOM standards and regulations. The requirement consists of the main hospital, Darnall Army Community Hospital (DACH), 32 outlying buildings, Great Plains Regional Dental Command and South Plains District Veterinary Command. DACH has a current operational bed capacity of 128, mobilization bed capacity of 267, 10 doctor sleep room beds, 7 Labor and Delivery beds, 19 newborn nursery bed s and 179 dental chairs. DACH is the largest Army Community Hospital employing over 1900 military and civilian personnel. The combined total is 720,890 square feet. There is 637,139 operational square feet, with an additional 83,751 square feet of exterio r space. Fort Hood consists of 340 square miles and has three containment areas: Main Fort hood (4,625 acres), West Fort hood (1,342 acres) and North Fort Hood (4,451 acres). In addition to buildings located at Fort Hood, one clinic is located downtown Copperas Cove. The contract period will be from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005 with four one-year options through June 30, 2009. The North American Industrial Code System (NAICS) code is 561720. This requirement will be solicited as an 8(a) competit ive set-aside. Offerors must meet the required minimum Corporate Experience. Contractor Corporate Experience requires that the firm have gained experience in hospital housekeeping as a result of being regularly engaged in the business of providing housek eeping services in healthcare/patient care environments (e.g., inpatient, outpatient, ancillary, surgical, and dental care). The minimum level of acceptable experience required is 24 months within the previous 36 months from the date initially established for submission of proposals. Periods of creditable performance must have been incurred at more than one site for at least 12 consecutive calendar months at each site and could not have been gained at two or more sites concurrently. The solicitation will be issued on or about March 8, 2004. A pre-proposal conference will be held, the date, time and location of which will be provided in the solicitation.
