Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with Jeol USA Inc., Peabody, MA, to assist NIST with the relocation (disassembly and re-assembly) of a Jeol JAMP-78030F to a new building at the NIST Gaithersburg campus. ****Sole source determination is based on Joel USA being the manufacturer of the instrument and therefore the only vendor that has the knowledge and expertise necessary to successfully breakdown and reassemble this complex instrumentation. ****** The period of performance is required within three (3) weeks after receipt of order. *****The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334516 and the size standard is 500 employees. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price purchase order. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations and no solicitation package will be issued. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation will not be issued. See note 26.
