DESCRIPTION: This is a notice of intent of the New York Harbor Healthcare System New York Campus at New York to negotiate sole source with Siemens Medical Systems Inc, 2 Penn Plaza, New York, NY. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of FAR 6.302 (6.302-2,(ii) (A)) And FAR Part 15. The authority cited and justification made is based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by the equipment available from one source. Maintenance repair & rebuilding of medical Equipment repair applies to this procurement. This vendor provides the knowledge and experience for repair /maintenance for the Siremobile 2000 and the Siemens Mammomat 3 System. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition is based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
