Description

U.S Army CECOM intends to award this requirement to M/A-COM Inc. (M/A-COM), located in Lowell, Massachusetts 01853 on sole source basis. The Government has a need to procure two critical spare units used in the AN/TPQ-37 FIREFINDER radar design: 1) Interconnecting Box Qty 50, NSN: 5975-01-072-4464 and 2) Microwave Circuit Card Assembly Qty 50, NSN: 5840-01-072-0422. Although limited drawings are available, they do not contain adequate nor sufficient data to be used in the manufacture, testing, and final acceptance of these items by any other source at this time. M/A-COM is the only source capable of complying with the Governments requirements. Based on current production capabilities, M/A- COM projects a six-months production schedule with best efforts for acceleration in delivery. Presently, the Government doe s not have the option to initiate competitive procurement due to lack of technical data, M/A-COM is currently the Only Approved source for these items to support the various on going critical operations (Noble Eagle, Noble Response, and Enduring Freedom) a round the world. The Government does not possess the technical data completely defining the form, fit, function, and test requirements of the equipment being procured which shall be considered by the agency.
