- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for the design, fabrication, and installation of exhibits in the Hoover Dam Visitor Center complex. The principal features of the work to be performed consist of providing exhibit design, fabrication, and installation for the Hoover Dam Visitor Center exhibit hall, theater lobby and entrance, and the original exhibit building. This includes graphic design and layout, media and multi-media development, development of interactive exhibit components, artwork and illustration, artifacts, lighting, and audio-visual components. Also included is the dismantling and disposal or recycling of existing exhibits and preparation of all exhibit areas. This requirement is being procured under negotiated procedures in accordance with Part 15 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and is a total small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 541430 and size standard is $6,000,000.00. The work will be accomplished in three (3) phases. Phase 1 is design development based on the schematic design proposed in an Interpretive Master Plan which will be included as an attachment to the Request for Proposals (RFP). Phase 2 will be final exhibit design and engineering, and Phase 3 will consist of fabrication and installation. It is strongly recommended that all prospective offerors make a site visit to examine the location of the work. Access to the work site is very limited and conditions at the site will affect the Contractor's operations. A formal site visit is tentatively scheduled for March 3, 2004. The firm date will be included in the RFP. Effective October 1, 2003, prospective vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) prior to the award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR database may make an offeror ineligible for award. The Central Contractor Registration Handbook and information on the registration process can be obtained via the CCR website, http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423. It is anticipated that a Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued on or about February 25, 2004, however all dates in this announcement are subject to change. The RFP will be issued via www.fedbizopps.gov/ but the Government reserves the right to issue the solicitation on paper or CD-ROM if the website becomes inoperable or if the Contracting Officer determines it is in the Government's best interest to do so. Offerors should register on the website to be included on the offerors list in order to receive notifications pertaining to the solicitation, or visit the web site after February 24, 2004 in order to access the solicitation and any subsequent amendments and/or notices. Questions may be submitted to Aaliyah Robertson at Arobertson@lc.usbr.gov or by fax at 702-293-8499.
