Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes sole source soliciation; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued in accordance with Note 2. 701814Q016 is issued as a sole source request for quoation. This acquisition and the incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-19. The following waterfowl implantable satellite transmitters will be purchased from Microwave Telemetry Inc, 8835 Columbia 100 Parkway, Suites K and L, Columbia, MD 21045 due to Microwave Telemetry, Inc is the only manufacturer of PTT satellite transmitters small enough to be implantable in ducks and which offer multi-season duty cycle timers enabling 800 hour battery life. It is the only package available to allow complete documentation of annual life cycle. Microwave's transmitters has a proven track record of building transmitters that can be implanted in waterfowl without incurring bird mortality and are extremely reliable. Transmitter Specs are: Must be ARGOS Certified Satellite Transmitters. Potted and designed to be surgically implanted into waterfowl (ducks). Stainless steel antenna positioned on package so that it exits the bird vertically at a 90 degree angle. Transmitter package designed to resist external pressure. Programmable multi-season duty cycles to be specified at a later date. Include temperature and battery voltage sensors. Transmitter codes to be assigned to Lynne Dickson, Canadian Wildlife Service, to facilitate data processing from Service Argos, Inc. Delivery, inspection and acceptance will be at US Fish & Wildlife Service, 1011 East Tudor Rd, Anchorage, AK 99503 on or before 051904. The following provisions 52.212-1, Instructions to Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial items apply to this acquisition. A completed copy of 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items must be included with the offer. The following clauses 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items applies to this order.
