Description
The Department of the Navy, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) intends to solicit and award a Firm Fixed Price contract to Harris Corporation/Government Communications Division, P.O. Box 37, Melbourne, FL. on a sole source basis for a Reduced - Radar Cross Section (R-RCS) Solution for four "A" Condition AN/WSC-8(V)1 Antenna Pedestal Assemblies and Antenna Processor Modules (APMs) by modifying the Harris-built SATCOM Terminals and leveraging off the Harris built AN/WSC-6(V)9 2.5 Meter C/X Program. Delivery is estimated at 9 months after date of contract award. These modifications will include: * All Engineering and design efforts for the RAM, RAM Brackets, Radome Adapter Ring. * Installing brackets for Radar Absorption Material (RAM) on the Pedestal. * Installing RAM on newly mounted brackets and on the backside of the antenna reflector. * Installing new parameters (software proprietary) into the Antenna Control Unit via the APM card, which will account for the new weight (brackets and RAM). * Providing: - The new AN/WSC-6(V)9 2.5 Meter C/X ?snow-cone? Radome with lattice Installed RAM strips - The AN/WSC-6(V)9 2.5 Meter C/X Radome Heaters with RAM This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements. Award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. See Note 22. The Solicitation will be available at https://e-commerce.spawar.navy.mil.
