- Description
- The US Army TACOM-ARDEC logistics R&E Directorate is currently engaged in design and development of a modular packaging pallet system to handle the future logistics system. This future system is intended to be capable of handling all classes of military supply materials and compatible with all modes of transportation. The system will provide timely and seamless delivery to the war fighter?s in future combat operations. Logistics R&E Directorate is soliciting interests in the industry to help design and develop a Generation 1 (Gen 1) modular packaging pallet system for evaluation. The Gen 1 design will have a foot print of 54? L x 44? W, occupying a quarter of the Air Force pallet, 463L. The height of the Gen 1 will range from 42 to 46 inches. The desirable design features include a base suitable for four-way entry by a fork lift, horizontal shelving, four collapsible side panels and a top lid with innovative quick connecting locking features. In addition, the base is equipped with a locking mechanism to allow a pallet/pallet and pallet/platform connection. To be made of metal or composite materials. The Gen 1 must pass the rough handling requirement as stated in the military standard, MIL-STD-1660. If companies with the above expertise are interested in teaming with the Army in the above efforts, please respond Picatinny Center for Contracting via email to rwheel@pica.army.mil or respond to Richard Wheelwright at (973) 724-3941.
