Description
The U. S. Navy has a requirement to Strip and Paint Boeing 707 aircraft in support of the E-6B program. The requirement is further defined as follows: FY05 2 A/C, FY06 3 A/C, FY07 3 A/C, FY08 2 A/C, and FY09 3 A/C. The contractor shall prepare the aircraft to be stripped and painted in accordance with best commercial practices. The contractor must have a facility that can house the Boeing 707 and have a runway to support the arrival and departure of the aircraft. The contractor shall be responsible for Functional Check Flight support, and post paint support. The contractor shall perform normal scheduled maintenance as required during paint and in support of functional check flight and ferry flight. The contractor shall perform Corrosion Mapping. Any significant corrosion that requires cleaning, treatment, and preservation, will be considered as an over and above tasking to the contract. The contractor shall be responsible for the weight and balance of the flight controls. This request for information is NOT a contract; or a request for proposal; or a promise to contract; or a commitment of any kind. The Navy will NOT assume liability for costs incurred by any offeror for any data offered for examination; therefore, the cost of preparing information in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct charge to the Government. The Government reserves the right to review and use data at its own discretion. Upon request, NAVAIR will protect proprietary information from unwanted disclosure.
