Description
Three vessels needed by the Alaska Fisheries Science Center to conduct biological studies of Stellar sea lions. Vessel #1 will work in the Aleutian Islands and Gulf of Alaska for approximately 16 days, with targeted start date in the middle of May. Vessel #2 will work in the Gulf of Alaska for approximately 16 days with targeted start date in the middle of May. Vessel #3 will work in the eastern Gulf of Alaska and Prince William Sound for approximately 10 days with a targeted start date of May 25th. All vessels must be able to accommodate a scientific part of up to four biologists. Vessel #1 and #2, must be at least 85 feet (26 m) in overall length. Vessel #3 must be at least 58 feet (18 m) in overall length. All vessels must have a maximum draft of 14 feet (4.3 m), and height to bridge deck of 14 feet (4.3 m) from waterline, and have a minimum cruising speed of 9 knots (17 km/hr). Vessels #1 and #2 shall have a minimum of 4 members of the vessels crew with the boat. Vessel #3 shall have a minimum of 3 members of the vessels crew with the boat. Meals and accommodations for the scientific crew shall be provided by the vessel. The contracts awarded will contain options which the government may choose to exercise for performance in 2005 and 2006 for the same work. This procurement is 100% small business set-aside.
