Description

The National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, intends to issue a Request for Bids on or about March 29, 2004, to procure services to tow, clean, inspect and refurbish one (1) each 12-meter discus buoy located at the Department of Transportation?s Maritime Administration (MARAD) facility in Suisun Bay, California. The contractor shall provide all necessary management, facilities, labor, and materials necessary to tow and refurbish the buoy. The scope of work includes: towing the buoy to drydock at the contractor?s facility, mechanical refurbishment, conducting required inspections, surface preparation and painting of the buoy?s hull, superstructure, and interior compartments as specified, installation of the Government furnished upper mooring, and replacing anodes with Government furnished zinc anodes on the buoy hull. Work is to be completed within 30 days of contract award. Period of performance will be extended if additional repairs are needed. Upon completion of work and acceptance by the Government, the contractor shall provide wet dock berthing to moor the buoy safely, for a period not exceeding three (3) months. The solicitation is not available electronically. This solicitation is 100% Set-aside for small businesses. See Numbered Note 1.
